- As soon you get the job, you know that about 40-50% of the country, the hiring managers in some respect, didn't want you to get the job and already disapprove of the job you're doing.
- You are to blame for whatever troubles people - you are the personification of hardship.
- All of your work could be quickly outdone by the next guy in office.
- You're always on the job and it's not like you can call because of a snowstorm or anything, work is always just down the hall.
- You're aware that people are loony enough to actually try to assassinate you and while it's relatively unlikely that anyone gets very far in those plans or even succeeds if they do, it's still there.
Just looking ahead to Obama's term...he's got a terrible uphill battle. He is basically the voice of hope, but now that he's in office, he has to be the face of change and not just of promise. If things don't improve drastically between now and four years from now, how many people are going to look at it like a bust? Is he going to be able to solve the budget? The economy? The various pointless wars we've started across the globe? Regardless of how much good the man does, he'll likely be judged on where he couldn't pull off and that's why I would never want to be president.
Sorry for the phoned in entry, and lack of overall entries...I came up with this topic on Tuesday (obviously), but never really fleshed it out in my mind.
